Biblical Studies
1. What did I learn that was new to me?
The biblical studies task was to record anything that represents God's love while we were at Bali. I saw many things which and took many picutres. For example people praying at the Indian church already shows God's love. And yes my group and I certainly took pictures of that. We got many other pictures and in the end it was compiled and turned into a movie. Unfortunately, the movie cannot be uploaded here. What I can upload are those pictures. Those are pictures when my CAS group teached some local kids. This surely expresses God's love and His teachings because we are showing the value of caring for them. That is also the new thing which I learned, I learned to care more. I always hated to teach students, and eventhough I still dislike it, I am slightly more comfortable now when it comes to teaching little children.
2. What insights did this new knowledge give to me?
There wasn't much knowledge learned throughout the whole project because basically we are just to observe the daily life in Medan. If anything had any relevance with His word, than we were to record it. That was all, personally I didn't gain much knowledge about that. However, about creating the movie is quite different. I am not talented with creating movies, but my group members are. Therefore I understand more about editing and creating movies.
3. How did I feel about what was done?
I feel great about what was done. Observing the people in Medan, their actions was quite interesting. I watched how they cared towards one another, some prayed and some sang to glorify God. Espacially when I did the CAS, it was also included in the movie because I showed caring. All this felt good.
4. What did I like or enjoy and why?
What I liked about the project was probably recording the data. I enjoyed observing the people's lives and how they can be related to God. I also enjoyed taking pictures of it.
5. What did I dislike and why?
What I disliked throughout the project is probably the movie editing part because it is a part which I am not good at. I had to learn from my group members in order to understand it. It wasn't very fun.
6. What did I find easy to do or understand and why?
What I found easy and understand to do was probably making connection with the people's action with His teachings. The reason to this is because I believe that I have quite a biblical foundation. Plus the teachings from school, therefore I can connect their actions in their daily lives with the Bible.
7. What did I find difficult or challenging to do or understand and why?
What I found difficult to understand was clearly the movie editing process. I am not talented with editing movies, I just don't get it. That was why it was very challenging for me to help my group members because I wasn't as fast as them when it comes to movie editing.
8. What have I learnt about myself?
From the whole project, I definitely have learned to be more observant since the project was about observing others. I have learned more about His teachings because I connected the Medan people's lives with His Word. All this I have learned and improved more. Also, the part where I showed caring to the SD Horsik students, I learned that eventhough I hate teaching, I can still do it if I want to.
9. Is there any action that I will take as a result of what was done?
There aren't any actions or improvements to be done after finishing the project. I believe that my group and I did the best we can. We gathered enough data for the movie and made the movie. One thing that can be done is to apply what we learned into our lives. Yes we found people praying, caring, and loving in Medan, our next step is to follow them and apply it in our lives,
