For humanities this quarter we have been learning about world war 1. How the war started, how the war ended and what happened in the war? Those questions were all learned in this quarter. I actually found it interesting because war was kind of cool. The task that I chose to upload in the digiport is a news article about the assasination of Archduke Franz Ferdidnand or known as the trigger of world war 1.

Europe used to be a peaceful place, a place where people can enjoy their lives. But war fall upon the continent and world war one occured. The source started with the rivalry between Britain and Germany. They were the most powerful nations during that time. Armed with powerful weapons and soldiers. They were planning to have a peace treaty, but pride ruled over and nothing seemed to improve. Soon countries formed sides, Britain had Russia and France (Allies) while Germany had Hungary and Italy (Central Powers). Fake rumors spreaded, each nation then starts to prepare, prepare for war.
Serbia then had a plan, a plan that would trigger the war over the six nations. They invided the archduke of Hungary, Franz Ferdinand. June 28th 1914 he and his wife arrived in Sarajevo, Serbia for a meeting. 10 o’clock in the morning assasins were hiding and waiting until the archduke’s car were to pass. They threw bombs, it missed the archduke but some men got killed. As soon as the meeting was finished, the archduke went back using the same path. However the driver was a different man, he made a wrong turn. When the car drove back, Gavrilo Princip one of the assasins who missed throwing the bomb was just eating a sandwhich. He got his gun and shot the archduke and his wife.
That incident triggered the whole war, the allies againts the central powers. What’s actually odd is how Serbia didn’t get involved in the war at all. It was the allies againts the central powers. The Germans were superior, they had a two pronged attack. They attacked both France and Russia at the same time, but Britain didn’t give in. The war took countless lives all because of the death of one man, Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

Reflection
For this short article, I would say that I have done a good job because the facts here were all based on my words. There were no statements that I copied of from the internet, also besides the information I put some of my opinion in it which made it more sense. One way that I could have improved would be to use the better vocabulary and more detailed information so the article will be more attractive. The IB learner profile which I learn from this assignment is definitely knowledgeable because it requires a lot of knowledge. However there is also a little bit of reflective because I had to reflect on the information if I had to put some opinion in the article.
