Drama
This quarter for drama we prepared for a puppet show, the project is actually an IDU with science. So we had to make a puppet show about ecological relationships, the script had to be towards to PYP students. The puppet show were to be a group projects, my group members were Geral, Grady, WIlliam and Andrew. We each made a puppet and presented it. The file I decided to put in the website is the script of the puppet show.

Andrew: Hi I am Andrew, the science guy. Today we will explore the world of science. Today we will learn about food web.
Aditya: No proffesor, today is about ecological relationship
Geral: How could you forget prof?
Andrew: Sorry guys, I didn’t have enough sleep. These two are my assistants, Benji and Kim.
Aditya: Hi guys!
Geral: Hello!
Andrew: So ecological relationship, what is it? Well its basically the relationship in the ecosystem? Like how a chameleon change color to avoid the predators.
Aditya: Hold on prof, I don’t think they know what’s the ecosystem. So guys the ecosystem is the combination of habitat and community.
Geral: A habitat is where animals and plants live while a community is the different plant and animal populations living together in the habitat.
Andrew: Ok then, today we venture different ecosystems!
Aditya: Hold on prof, we haven’t discussed about the physical and biotic factors.
Andrew: Right.. So the physical factors that influence the ecosystem are non living factors such as light, water, oxygen, temperature and others.
Geral: Don’t forget pH.
Andrew: Right..
Geral: While the biotic factors are living factors, how living organisms influence each other. Just like how the chameleon hides from the predators.
Andrew: Alright, now we are ready to go! Quick everyone lets hop in to my limousine
Aditya and Geral : YEAH!
Andrew: First stop, we venture the rainforest.
Bum Bum Bum
Andrew: Welcome to rainforest!
Aditya: Cool
Andrew: I know
Geral: So where are we going?
Andrew: We’re meeting my old friend, Prof Tiger.
William: Hey Andrew, long time no see. What brings you here?
Andrew: Well we came too ask you about the ecological relationship in the rainforest.
Aditya: Prof Tiger, how is it that you can speak and not eat us?
William: Well that’s because I am the most intelligent tiger in this forest, young one.
Geral: Really.. So explain the animals and plants in the rainforest?
William: Well there are countless species, tigers like me, elephants, monkeys, orchids, bushes, ferns and many others. You expect me to say all?
Geral: Well I guess that’s enough.
Aditya: Prof Tiger, what are the physical factors that influence this forest.
William: Light, soil, temperature, all of this factors influence the life in the forest. There is not much light in the forest, when there is it helps the plants. The soil also helps the plants in the forest. The same goes for the temperature, there are still many other factors like water.
Geral: Not bad Prof, you are quite smart.
William: Of course!
Andrew: So what about the biotic factors? How do the plants and animal relate in here?
William: Well there are lots of biotic factors, for example a tiger has a very flexible backbone which allows it to catch its prey easily. That plant over there is able to attract insects to enter its body and digest it.
Aditya:hmm
William: Some snakes here can blend in with the environment which provides camouflage, also snake can eat the prey from the poison it makes.
Andrew: Alrightt, I guess we already know the ecological relationship in here. Thank you Prof Tiger!
William: Your very welcome
Andrew: Let’s go back to the limo!
Geral: Yeahh
Bum Bum Bum
Andrew : Next stop! The desert!
Aditya: Who is the professor in there?
Andrew: Prof Camel
Geral: Wow..
Andrew: Ahh there he is... Hey Prof Camel.. Can I call you Cam?
Grady: Sure.. I guess
Andrew: As I have informed you before we will be asking you about the ecological relationship in the desert..
Grady: Okay.. So animals are scorpions, lizards, camels like me, for plant organisms there isn’t much.. probably cactuses.
Aditya: Okay, so what are the physical factors in the deserst?
Grady: Temperature, light, water.. The temperature and light in here is very intense.. not many organisms can withstand the heat here. Also the water is not a lot, it definitely effects the organisms here.
Geral: Cool, so what about the biotic factors?
Grady: I will mention two examples ok? First are camels, camels store fat in their hump that makes them not get thirsty. They can withstand the heat with that. The second are cactuses, they also store liquid to withstand the heat in the desert.
Andrew: That’s awesome, well I guess we have to go to our next destination.. Say your thank yous kids
Aditya and Geral: Thank You
Andrew: Next stop the ocean!
Bum Bum Bum
Aditya: I don’t see how we are surviving this Prof..
Andrew: Hey I made this limo.. it’s awesome!
Geral: So who are we meeting here?
Andrew: We are meeting my friend Prof Clownfish
(Moving..)
Andrew: There he is!! Hey clown!
Grady: We meet again Prof Andrew.. So you are here to know about the ecological relationship in the ocean.
Aditya: So.. we can start with the animals and plants in here..
Grady: Okay.. lets see, sharks, crabs, lobsters, corals, anemones-
Geral: Okay I guess that’s enough.. What are the non-living factors in the sea?
Grady: Light, seaweed, sand are all the non living factors. They effect the life of the fishes. Sand and seaweed are used for the fish to sometimes hide their bodies from sharks. The same with light, some organisms in the sea need light to live.
Aditya: Alright prof, so what are the living factors in the sea?
Grady: There are tons of living factors here. We can start with the clown fish and the sea anemone, just like nemo and his home. The anemone protects the clown fish from danger. While the clown fish gives food to the anemone. Its quite a good deal. Another good example is how some small fishes would go around the mouth of the bigger fish to clean their mouth.
Andrew: Thank you so much for that Prof, we would love to stay, but time is ticking we have to go!
Grady: Sure
Andrew: To the limo guys!
Bum Bum Bum
Andrew: Next stop Antartica!
Geral: Are we meeting Prof Walrus?
Andrew: yeah, I guess you know him ?
Geral: Yeah.
Andrew: Here we are...
William: We meet again Prof Andrew..
Andrew: Hey Prof..
Aditya: I guess you should know why we are here?
William: Yes I will explain the ecological relationship in antarticaa.
Geral: Would you tell us the animals and plants in the antartic.
William: Peguin, polar bear, seals, walrus, for plants, there are not many plants that can live in the cold. Plants in here are like mosses, fungi the basic ones.
Aditya: Alright, could you mention the non living factors in here?
William: Well temperature is of course important, the cold weather here make it hard for the organisms to live. Most of the animals in here have thick fur or fat so they can be warm. Snow and ice is also included because it is the land in here, there is no grass.
Aditya: What about the living factors?
William: For some animals, like penguins they have thick fat and fur so they will not get cold in here. Another factor is with polar bears, they have sharp claws and teeth to eat the salmon.
Geral: Cool!!
Andrew: Thank you so much Professor.. but we must hurry to the lab now
William: Sure, feel free to come again! Bye!!
Andrew: To the limo kids!!
Bum Bum Bum
Andrew: We’re back home
Aditya: Yeah, today was a good adventure prof
Geral: Yeahhh
Andrew: So kids, do you understand ecological relationship?
(PAUSE)
Andrew: I can’t hear you?
(PAUSE)
Andrew: Okay then thanks for watching Andrew the Science Guy! We will be back next week.

Reflection
For this assignment, there are actually quite some improvements that could have been made. Eventhough the script and puppets were made by a huge effort, we lack some factors. First of all is time, we didn't spent time that wisely at school. It's that we just couldn't, we ended up getting distracted which led us to working at home. That also led us to lack of preparation for the puppet show. However, we tried our best to practise during the lunch times so we can prepare. Next time there is another puppet show, I will definitely use class time better. The IB learner profile which I learned from this is risk taker because during the puppet show I had to be a risk taker or else I wouldn't be able to speak the lines.
