Math
For this quarter we learned about indices, surds, rationalization and logarithm. Indices and surds are basically review from grade 9. Rationalization and logarithm were the new topics, they were tough stuff to learn. The work below is the result of the investigation test we did. It was the only assesment for this quarter,
Reflection
All investigation tests are surely difficult. We have to find some sorta formula or rule in a period of time. For this investigation test, we first need to find out the logarithm rules. There were three in total, but those weren't really difficult to discover. It came out naturally. The next part was to solve a unfamiliar question which covered this thing called compound interest. It was complicating at first, but in the end I got the answer for it. I am sorta satisfied with my score because it's not that low. The test was quite difficult and we had to write a lot of stuff. I am okay with the mark I received because I know for criterion B I couldn't achieve any higher. I couldn't achieve any higher because I didn't prove how I got the logarithm laws, I should have done that to get a maximum grade. However I could have improved my criterion C and D. If I have wrote more carefully, and mention the pattern more I could have maximized my grade. But without that part in criteiron B, I believe this was the best score I could get. So I am happy for now, I hope I will get better grades in the future.
This test is almost impossible to be connected with the fundamental concept intercultural awareness because math has nothing to do with culture or having awareness about the culture. Math is just about numbers. However, my math class is built with people of different cultures (Indonesian, Korean, Belgian, etc) , not only Indonesians. Therefore by learning with them, listening to their thoughts and talking with them I am more aware with their cultures.
