Design Technology
Procedure
1. Copy the car drawing template to the wood
2. Cut the wood according to the template
3. Measure 0.5cm from the bottom and 3cm frm the sides. Mark the points. These will be drilled to form holes for the wheels.
4. Measure 1 cm thickness of round wood
5. Cut it and repeat this process for 4 times
6. Find the center and make a whole for each wheel
7. Prepare a chopstick, measure 3cm of it. Cut it, and repeat twice.
8.Apply sand to the plywood and the round wood.
9. Attach the two chopsticks to the two holes in the car shaped wood.
10. Attach 2 wheels to each chopstick.
11. Test the car on a smooth surface if it moves or not.
12. Apply sandpaper to the carved car
13. Coat the car with primer
14. Let it dry for 10 minutes
15. Design the car on the design(use a pencil and color pencil for detail)
16. Take the car which is already dried and apply sandpaper again
17. Paint the car according to the design
18. Let it dry
Evaluation:
1. The primer coating shouldn't be too thick or not later the colored paint could peel off.
2. When painting do it step by step, wait until the colors dry or else it would end up horrible. The colors will overlap and not look like the expected design.
3. We needed smaller paint brushes for particular details on our design.

Reflection
As seen above, that was the mark which our group received for this project. It was a really disappointing mark, I mean we worked really hard with this toy, It took us quite a long time, we cut the wood carefully and painted it with caution too. I really expected a better grade for this. However in the end the car's wheels didn't move that freely. It wasn't able to move well and that was the main reason why our grades were bad. The goal of this project was to make a moving car, we did everything except for that last thing. It was really unfortunate. The reason why our car couldn't move was because the holes for attaching the car wheels were too small. That way after applying paint, the car couldn't move. Therefore for the improvement, next time we need to drill a bigger hole.
This whole project can't really be related to the fundamental concept intercultural awareness because it does not really relate to any culture. The toy itself isn't a traditional toy therefore not connected to culture. The only way I can relate it with the fundamental concept is that this project was a group project. Every member has their own culture, in my case everyone has Indonesian culture. Therefore, working with them helped me be more aware with Indonesian culture.
